I hail from a long line of fly fisherman in my
family. My father, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, and their ancestors before
them, all enjoyed perfecting the art and rhythmic dance in tune with nature. Now
just because I happen to be born a girl, didn't stop me from learning to enjoy
it too. It started out a way for me to spend time with the men in my family, and
over the years it has become more of a peaceful past time and a chance to enjoy
the great outdoors, an escape to an unspoiled place where memories are built and
shared. Oftentimes from Spring through fall, we gather together on the banks of
the big muddy to carry on the family tradition.
A River Runs Through It
"Eventually all things merge into one and a river runs
through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks
from the basement of time. On some rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks
are the words, and some of the words are theirs." - Norman Maclean - A River
Runs Through It
"He told us about Christ's disciples being fisherman,
and we were left to assume...that all great fishermen on the Sea of Galilee were
fly fisherman and that John, the favorite, was a dry-fly fisherman." - Norman
Maclean-A River Runs Through It
