Combating Spam

In an effort to combat the heavy influx of comment spam that has taken over many other blogs and started to infiltrate mine, I've made some changes here. Upgraded to MT version 3.14 and installed the MT Blacklist Plugin.
Also, I've made it so comments will be closed after 10 days to keep the "texas holdems" and "online pokers" of the world OUT of my Blog! So, if you read this blog and feel like posting a comment, please note that you only have 10 days now from the date of the entry to do so.
Take that spammers!!

i need you help lori! I can't get the MT blacklist plug in to work, maybe it's a mac thing in which case i can try it on my PC at work, but I tried making people register, where MT insists you create a typekey account, however, it failed to work, even nick couldn't figure out what was up. I get so much darn spam and i've blocked over 2000 ips already! I do like how Mt is smart enough not to publicly post the spam, like how you never see online poker ads on my blog or yours....so it makes you wonder why the morons bother!
I am gonna try and upgrade right now!

Great Job Lori! Damn spammers!!! :) Keep up the good work. The blog gets better and better with each passing day :)
