Pugsley had his Senior Wellness checkup this weekend and I'm happy to report the Dr. said he is healthy as can be with a very strong heart. As we waited to be seen Pugsley wooed everyone in the waiting room by performing tricks like High Fives and Play Deads. He will do anything for attention and boy does he know how to get it. He is the Mel Gibson of canines. One lady gave him a treat from a jar on the counter, another one gave him belly rubs and kisses, and the receptionist gave him a free toy. It's amazing the way he can work a room. I swear he must have been a Playboy in a former life.

On our way home I stopped at the Drive-up Coffee Barista. As I sat at the drive through and ordered my usual Grande Regular with cream and sugar, Pugsley hammed his way up to the driver's side window and laid on the old charm with his secret weapon, the half-head cock, and Lo... my Grande Regular came with a dog bisquit on top. He does this at the Bank too...climbs onto my lap and pokes his head through the window, trying to look extra cute because he understands that Drive throughs = tasty treats.

When we got home, it was so beautiful, warm, and sunny here in CT. I started my yardwork and clearing the gardens. Perfect Pug weather, not too hot and not too cold. Pugsley had a burst of energy, enjoyed chasing birds in the yard and was so exuberant at one point he was doing Pugtona laps around the lawn. Each time I made a trip to empty out the wheelbarrow, his royal highness got a ride back. We caught some of the action on the digital. Not bad for an almost 11 year old Pug. I Love that he still acts like a puppy.

Leaping and Bounding
Doing Pugtona Laps
Cantering like a horse
I'm ready for my ride now

Oh my gosh! PUGTONA?!?!?! Is that what you call it when he does laps and laps around for no reason??? Oscar does this too...it's a riot. Figure 8's around the living room and hallway. Is it a pug thing??

Its not just a pug thing. My shelties play nascar too. They're hysterical because one tries to herd the other and then its the others turn. It goes on so long sometimes that they end up sleeping for hours afterwards! Too funny!!

Yes, when they get really happy or excited, their tail uncurls and points down (I think it gives them a little extra umph) and they take off like banchies. We call it Pugtona because of the Daytona racetrack reference. It's the cutest thing ever!

What a ham dahhling! I think he was a PIMP in a former life. He knows how to "charm" anyone. He did it to me too. Hunter has that effect on people too, but not as much as Puggy, considering Hunter wants nothing to do with the car. So that means no drive thru windows for him :)
