No Sugar Tonight in my Coffee, No Sugar Tonight in my Tea
February 27, 2006

So day 1 on South Beach was weird. No sugar was ok because I pretty much use Splenda for everything anyway. I didn’t give carbs a second thought all day or notice anything really until dinner when I started feeling woozy while eating my Filet Mignon broiled with a salad. Hmmmm, I started thinking maybe I was just psyching myself out since it’s usually not until a week in that I start to feel off kilter due to the lack-o-carbs and glycemic adjustments. I was going to try to walk it off on the treamill but then I bagged that idea because I started getting this random pain isolated in my lower left leg. Basically I became convinced that I have a blood clot that would travel up my leg, to my heart while I was walking or sleeping and do me in. Being that Pugsley has no opposable thumbs, I'm betting he would not be able to dial 911 for me. I'm sleeping with my leg elevated tonight just to be safe.

Hey, where have all my comments gone?

No sugar tonight in my coffee
No sugar tonight in my tea
No sugar to stand beside me
No sugar to run with me

Da-un-do-dow dow da-un-do-dow
Da-un-do-dow dow un-dow-dow
Da-un-do-dow dow da-un-do-dow
Da-un-do-dow dow...

Good luck with South Beach Lori! FYI - pain in lower leg could be potassium deficiency! If you can't have bananas, oranges, raisins or baked potato try to find Morton's Light Salt - it has potassium in it!

I am doing Weight Watchers - down 73 lbs in a year.

Casey

Well, that explains a few things then.

Can everyone do me a favor please?

I you ever notice anything wierd going on with my blog, like not being able to comment or receiving an odd error message, can you drop me a quick email to let me know?

I can't check my blog from work during the day, but at least this way I have a head's up when I get home to look into it.

Thanks!

Casey -- P.S. meant to say Congrats on the 73 lbs, that's GREAT!!

I came home tonight to a call from that woman with the 10 year old Blind Pug with SARDS and she most likely wants to surrender him to us -- I'm waiting for her to call me back but I might be able to see you this weekend if I can get her to surrender and you'd be around to CUR! Not sure who will foster yet..

Poor puggie, sounds like he is not in a good place :( and his name is Pugsley too!

I finally gave up on all those "fad" diets, and decided to just eat normal portions and exercise. So far I lost 2lbs. Now I just need to quit smoking and drinking so much. Oh well, GL. I wish the South Beach Diet would send you to South Beach for a month for inspiration.

P.S. Is Pugsley dieting too? He looks a little chubby.

Greg.

ok lori! you inspired me, i've been snacking a lot at work since i got back from my tonsillectomy and we have free candy and we're leaving for mexico in two weeks so it's the perfect time to embark on phase one. This week i finished off all the things i bought and didn't want to waste, which is fine because i have pms anyway and it's okay to satisfy cravings sometimes. Anyway, i think we're going to begin. For me, i hate breakfast because i don't like breakfast foods and i HATE plain yogurt. I am such a fruit yogurt or cereal gal so i have to suck it up. I also end up starving more than i should because i can't think of things to snack on. You should publish your menus. :) I think i am going to try that with mine.
