Mane 'n Tail
March 3, 2006

Looking through my various health and beauty aids, it just occurred to me that I use and swear by a lot of animal products. Not products made for humans that are tested on animals – I’m talking about actual animal products that are sold and marketed to animals.

maneandtail150.gif For instance, I swear that I’ve noticed a big difference in my hair ever since I’ve been using Mane 'n Tail horse shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels smoother and thicker after each use -- it even seems to be growing longer at a faster rate! The stuff is jam-packed with a micro enriched protein formula that conditions for optimum body, shine and manageability. It strengthens the hair shaft and prevents breakage. I tell you, the stuff does everything -- it protects from sun damage, its tangle free and if ALL that weren’t enough --- it smells really good too and only costs $5.99 for a humungous bottle.

uddercream.gif Don’t laugh -- but I’m also a big fan of Udder Cream. In fact, I swear by it. Originally made for cows to be applied to the udder after each milking to treat teat cracks, chafing, and bruising. For aid in softening swollen udders following calving. I actually use it as an all-over body moisturizer, teats and all! It’s now being marketed to humans and is especially effective against those annoying cracks runners get on the balls of their feet. Great for dry skin, sunburn, and sports usage. It also smells good and makes your skin incredibly soft and smooth. I like slathering it on my legs after I come out of the shower and they are still wet, so it collects the moisture and really soaks in. Try it, you'll see.

I bet you didn’t know your local Agway is actually a secret Mecca for health and beauty products!

Agway is an agricultural store for farmers and pet owners, garden supply, etc. www.agway.com -- www.agway.com -- You mean they don't have any out in Cali? I'll take you there next time you visit, I love the way it smells in there.

Funny how my Godmother and I have so much in common for someone I've never known!

Lori, I'm sure this will come as no surprise that I, too, have used both of these products. I can remember using them in high school. I'm drawing a blank but I thought there was one more product that I used on my hands/nails for them to strengthen and grow. Maybe I need to pull out some of the udder cream for my dry running feet!
