I Want to Ride My Bicycle
May 2, 2006

I bought a new mountain bike this weekend and hit the Rail Trail upstate to try it out. I forgot how much fun bike riding is and what great exercise. The only problem is I kind of overdid it, like 22 miles on Saturday and now I have a serious ass burn. What can I say, I am a glutton for punishment. I hear the only way to cure saddle sore is to get back on and break it in. I may go riding again afterwork tonight. Oh, I discovered something else too, bike riding makes you hungry! At least I'm not walking bowlegged anymore.

Get a gel seat or a gel seat cover.

I love bike riding but the ass burn is the worst! But it's true, you do have to get back in the saddle to cure the sore.

I gotta tell ya... I got this brilliant idea that I would bike 3 more today on my lunch SL. Just call me DUMB @SS!!!

I AM NOT RIDING MY BIKE AGAIN FOR AT LEAST A WEEK! :(

The last time I did 22 miles it did not hurt this bad but then again I had biked a few more times in the season first.

Good luck but I'd stay off the bike another day or two if I were you.

Cool! I've been thinking of getting a bike myself - not for trail riding, but for riding to the bus stop every morning, so hopefully I won't have any saddle sore problems! ;-)

Hey cool bike! I cyclocomute everyday...beats beign in traffic, and is healthy.

I was thinking your seat looks pretty low. Generally your seat should be above the position of your handlebars. That may solve your saddle sore issues.
