Top 5 beauty products
December 15, 2008

I've decided if I could have any job in the world, I would love to be that person at the high end cosmetic companies who get to think up the fun names of their eye shadows, blushes, and lipsticks.

You know like, "Midnight Lust" "Raw Sugar" "Candy Cane" "Moroccan Night" "Bedtime Story".

See? I just thought those up.....I would totally rock at that job. Seriously, how cool would it be?

Anyway the thought inspired today's topic which is one for the ladies.

What are the top 5 beauty products you simply could not live without?

Here are mine:
mytopfive.gif

1. Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker
2. Nars blush in Orgasm
3. Cetaphil facial cleanser
4. Purpose Moisturizer
5. Lancome Définicils High Definition Mascara

If I was allowed a number six, it would be a good pair of tweezers. But I'm not...that's cheating. You can only pick five...it's harder than you think!

Two of these are my faves as well, Lori, I've used Cetaphil for years and am a HUGE fan of Orgasm blush. It's a fun gift to give to girlfriends, I love to watch their eyes get huge when my card says something like "I wanted you to have a great orgasm for your birthday, Christmas, etc.." *grin*

It's a great product, best blush I've ever used! I'll have to try the Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker, sounds intriguing...

I'm posting a cosmetic on the cheap every day untll Christmas over at http://jansdailydish.com, check out what I like, you may find something new to try.

Toothpaste, shaving cream, sharp razor, hair brush and clean underwear ( if I wear any that day.)

Based on your product names, OPI could use you! I LOVE how they name their new polishes!

Here's my top 5:
1. Soap & Glory Sexy MotherPucker Lip Gloss
2. Rimmel London Volume Flash Waterproof Mascara
3. Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier "Love Kills Slowly" Perfume for women
4. Loreal Paris HiP Bright Shadow Duo in Brazen (I just use the brown)
5. CoverGirl Perfect Blend Eyeliner in Basic Black

While I have to have the essentials, a hair pick, toothbrush, toothpaste, eyelash curler, etc, the above are the "above and beyonds" that aren't ESSENTIAL essentials. Ya dig? I'm all about eyes and lips. I don't usually wear blush or bronzer.

Take care!!

so fun.

1. Cetaphil face wash
2. Eye lash tint (Mascara makes me itch, so I like having dark lashes ALL the time)
3. Origins spot remover
4. Bare Essentuals Buxom Lips in Kanani
5. Clarins Hydraclear tinted moisturizer in Bisque

I have so many more I love but those are the ones I couldn't live without. I need a good new blush so i'll check out the NARS Orgasm.

Lori commented December 15, 2008 11:33 PM

Ohhh, Nicole...tell me more about the eyelash tint. how do they apply it and how long does it last?

i just ordered some Bare Escentuals mineral makeup for the first time, not lipstick though I got the mineral veil powder, looking forward to trying it out. I hear it's a lot better than the regular kind.

Yay for Cetaphil!

P.S. You will love the Orgasm, gives you a nice natural flush. It will look great on your fair skin.

P.S.

Thanks to Coffeypot for posting his "guys" top 5!

And of course to Emily the pug for putting in her two paws worth :) Vaseline is must on dry pug noses. To this I can attest.

I get one a month and it lasts almost the whole time. For the wedding I had that plus a professional "curl" which is basically like a perm and it literally look like I has mascara and eye makeup on when I woke up. I LOVED it. The curls are pretty pricey though so I just stick to the tint. Usually lasts about 3 weeks and no mascara!

They put it on just like hair dye. You have vaseline and little strips under your eyes so it doesn't get all over...then they just sorta paint it on and you sit with your eyes close until it sets. Then they kinda wipe/brush the excess off and flush your eyes with drops as you try and open then. For me since I am fair with light blue eyes it burns like hell, but for her darker eyed clients she said it doesn't bother them at all...gotta love the sensitivity. But ultimately, I'd rather have a bit of pain at once than have itchy eyes from mascara all day!

This is fun! Let me think....
OK, I gotta have Paula's Choice Skin Balancing super antioxidant mattifying concentrate in the am & the skin recovery super antioxidant concentrate at nite. I guess that counts for two.
3. Revlon ColorStay Makeup
4. Revlon Contour eyeshadow Brush
5. Almay oil free eye makeup remover pads

You're right Lori, it was hard! ...I have black eyelashes, but it sure would be nice to have a permanent curl. Does anyone know a super smudge free mascara? My eyelashes brush against my cheekbone and makes smudge marks. Very vexing! And I do try to curl the hell out of them but they straighten out in a short time.
