This is so sad. I just updated the Curly Tail blog about a new rescue and I was almost in tears as I posting this story.

Curly Tail received an urgent call for help about an emaciated pug named Pixie. Apparently her owner was very very ill and Pixie was dying along side of him. Her owner was not able to take care of himself, let alone poor little Pixie. Friends pulled Pixie from the situation and into informal foster care. Everyone meant well but were in over their heads b/c Pixie needs a tremendous amount of care. That is when CTPR received the call. Thank goodness Pixie was able to get safely into rescue and receive care within 2 hours of getting that call!

You can read the full story here:

I pray that Pixie will be okay now that she's in our care. Just look at the loving face on this sweet little girl. It tears me all up inside..

I read the rest of the story and can't believe it. They meant well? Seriously? How could they "mean well" and have her in that condition? Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say that a medical condition caused her emaciation (a stretch but okay). What about her nails, her ears, her wrinkles? What about getting her to a vet for god's sake?

I work with a pug rescue and know that often reporting people like this to the police can just prevent others from doing what's right and surrendering their animals (one reason I am posting here rather than on the Curl Tails site) but if I could get my hands on them.......

Donation coming.

Thank God for pug rescue! What an adorable face. With all the lovng people caring for her I have to believe she will pull thru! It just breaks my heart that no one was able to step in before now.
Our Five Guys is always so crowded we haven't been there yet and now we have 2 of them. I love Cary Grant, Tyrone Power, Clark Gable, and one more Errol Flynn. I have gotten behind on reading blogs!
