I still love you Freddie
May 18, 2009

Has there ever been a better male vocalist than Freddie Mercury?

My personal opinion is no. I believe he was seriously one of the greatest vocalists in contemporary music. His remarkable voice covered a span of nearly four octave ranges allowing him to sing in both the baritone and tenor.

Simply put Freddie and Queen together were awesome. I caught the Live at Wemblely concert this weekend on the Logo channel and was reminded of just how awesome they were. Watching the performance now is even more moving knowing that Freddie was probably aware of the severity of his illness at the time. He was diagnosed with AIDS in the spring of 1987 and his health began to deteriorate not long after. His death broke the silence surrounding AIDS.

Whatever you feel about Frieddie - you could never deny the power of his voice or his charismatic charm and commanding style.

I have decided that when I am ready for another pug, it will probably be a little black pug and I will name him Freddie.

Freddie is a great name for a pug although I prefer the females.
I also like the human names for pugs we have had or still have Chucky, Emily,Lola.Little Chucky, Gertie,Sunshine ( I would have renamed her but she came with it and answered to sunshine also she had a huge following on the web, I would have renamed her Lilly) but alas we get the call about a pug ready for the gas chamber in the south so we get her and her name is Lilly.
I was told that the black pugs are far less apt to get MCTs than the fawns.
Lola is black and a real sweetheart.
I hope our wait for little Freddie is not too long.

Freddie Mercury was also an avid cat lover, which is another reason I still love him so much. I read a story about him in CatFancy magazine, that said that he left the bulk of his money to his longtime friend, Mary, who agreed to take care of his beloved cats for him once he passed.

Awesome.

That's right he did, one more reason to love Freddie!

He will always be one of my faves. I have a couple of greatest hits CDs that I play over and over. Even my kids love him - one of my proudest accomplishments.

I watched his bio on the biography channel and cried my eyes out. He was such an awesome talent.

Black pugs also tend to have only a single coat (rather than the double that is common with fawns). My black pug sheds maybe 1/3 as much as my fawn does. I swear my fawn sheds his body weight in hair every week.

That would be a great name!
Freddie was an amazing singer and performer and no one has ever really matched him.

But speaking of Freddie.. one of the finalists on American Idol has been compared to him, Adam, have you been watching?

I have really only watched here and there but now that's getting down to the wire I will watch. I have to say I personally think Kris Allen is a better singer. Although I don't want him to win b/c I feel like the winners of that show don't have much future success. I think Kris could be like Daughtry who is awesome.

From what I've heard of Adam Lambert singing to me it just sounds like he is screaming a lot of the time. Maybe I've caught him on "off nights". I do like his personality though and vibe. Still - def. no Freddie. Ugh! I think the judges are just running out of comparisons to make and things to say!!

It's on tonight.
