Whooooo [Deep Exhale]

I am checking into the hospital tomorrow morning for surgery.
The results of my last "less invasive" biopsy were inconclusive so they are proceeding with surgical biopsy that is highly recommend when you are a number 4 on the BI-RADS scale like me.

I am praying to all the pug gods they get what they need this time so they can stop hacking into my boob. The surgeon warned me there is a 5% chance they might not get a good enough sample and would have to do this all over again.

Wtf, they already missed getting enough sample in the needle biopsy, they have a microchip in the spot to be biopsied.... and I'll have a needle marker inserted by the radiologist prior to tomorrow's operation as a guide for the surgeon. That means I'll be sitting around waiting for an hour or longer with a needle sticking in my chest. Presuming the lidocaine will have worn off at that point...Have. already. requested. strong. strong. drugs.

And at my pre surgical consult Dr told me there is a 20% chance it could be something bad requiring further treatment, more mammorgrams and surgeries. Apparantley these are things they are required to tell you before surgery. But now my head is swarming with visions of percentages and hospital gowns, fear of radiation, boob dressings, needles, iv drips, and blood.

Whooooo [another deep exhale]

Praying they get what they need this time and of course that the findings are nothing bad.

I'll be off the blog for the next couple days but would appreciate any good vibes you can send my way.

Instead of doing all these useless biopsies, why don't they just go in and remove the whole thing all together? They're gonna end up doing that anyway. I hate doctors. There're are so few "real" ones out there.

Don't worry, you'll be fine. Just keep thinking positive and laugh.

Try not to worry out of proportion (I know, easier said than done). It sounds like they are just hedging (they have to). There is a 5% chance of ANYTHING happening - meteor strike on the way to the hospital, invasion of friendly aliens, etc. etc.

So, the way to think about it is that there is a 95% chance that they will get a good enough sample and 80% probability that there will be nothing wrong. Those are about as good of odds as you are going to get on anything in this world.

Lori we will be prayin for you.
Things will go your way, whenever you do good things for God's creatures, as careing for Plum you will have good things happen to you.
Judging from yesterdays post she is doing quite well you can see it in her overall look and in her eyes. I am sure she will be a great comfort in the days ahead.
Haven't been online much as of late (computer problems) so we will be nervously awaiting the news.
Love to you from all of us.

I will be praying for you during this time. I went today for my 6 month checkup with my oncologist. I was diagnosed almost 8 yrs ago with breast cancer. I have done all of that. I won't lie it was very scary. As hard as it sounds, be positive, lots of prayer and you will get though this. All of us are pulling for you! You are going to be okay because Plum needs you!

Bugsy and I are wishing you all the best, My mom went thru this and came out ok. As for doing biopsies and not just removing all bad tissues, keeping you coming back for tests and this and that means billing for 40 different things instead of 5.

Definitely thinking of you! Good luck and I hope they supply you with good drugs.

They are required to tell you every single possibility of an outcome so don't worry so mucha bout the smaller percentages, it is all about the big ones.

Take care!

Hi Lori - Becky kindly gave me your "address" again.

Another friend had the same procedure...she wandered around the hospital for several hours with at Dixie cup taped over the needle. She said that it really wasn't very painful, but that she got a lot of stares when she went down to the cafeteria!

Sending prayers your way for you and your Sugar Plum Fairy!
