I have resorted to ace bandages and neck socks
September 15, 2010

Plum's allergies are flaring again (among other things). She just will not stop biting her feet or scratching her neck so I decided to take some drastic measures..

Tonight after her Oxydex bath I slathered on some Resicort and bound her feet with ace bandages.

I wish I had thought of this months ago.

On a more serious note, the vet did confirm renal failure, stage 2. They used the term "guarded prognosis" which I had not heard since they told me of Pugsley's cancer diagnosis 4 years ago. It has been a rough couple of weeks but we are both fighters and will never give up.

Please send some prayers and good thoughts for my Plummy.

Thanks for your support.

xoxo

Poor Plummy! Boo! I am sad to hear this! She is lucky to have such a wonderful puggy mommy! Have you looked into homeopathic remedies? Or try using natural cleaning products? I stopped using commercial cleaning products in my house and I try to be as green and natrual as possible not because of my carbon footprint guilt, but because of Mr. Pups' sensitivities. He doesn't break out as much as he used to. There has to be a cause to all of this...it's soo sad she has to suffer! I love reading your blog, you are so passionate in caring for these furry little angels!

Hi Lori, so sad to see this post. As Amber said is better to use natural products my Jessie has same skin sensitiviies/problems and I satrted using vinegar to cean the floors, must say the flaring ahs improved a lot. Also note you may need to get her on special diet for renal/kidney problems. Let us know how to help
praying for a long and happy life of you and Plum!
