lovin' life with a case of the growlies...
December 6, 2010

It is amazing how well Plum is doing despite her condition and the grave prognosis they gave me. I am so happy I did not listen to the vets and end her journey one month ago when they said I should. According to the doctors she shouldn't be alive....but I beg to differ.

She is presently holding her own with daily home cooked low sodium, low phosphorus meals, 30 mg of Cerenia for her stomach, calcium supplements, drinking lots of water and getting lots and lots of Lubbins.

Her quality if life is off the charts right now.

Lately she's even been taunting me with her toys. Her favorite game is to have me pretend that I'm going to steal the toy from her so she can curl her lip and wait for her move to lunge and attack my hand. Of course she doesn't make contact with her teeth, she just pretends to :)

Many of you have asked how she is doing, I posted this short clip so you can see for yourself.

And how ironic... All In The Family theme playing in the background. Seems appropriate!

She is so dang sweet.

Thank you Lori for taking good care of Plum.
And thank you for not taking the advice of the vet, there are intangible things that they don't know about and I am sure they have heard some amazing stories and Plum's is one of those.
Give Plum a big hug from me.

Im so glad you didnt listen to the vet too,..and I'm glad you posted that..I laughed..I hope she continues to do well..she deserves and needs more time with you.

Love is so powerful! I think she lives because of your love for each other. You have to do what feels right in your heart and you will when that time comes. Vets are smart but they don't know everything, my personal opinion. In Feb 2009 my vet almost talked me into putting my chihuahua down. I couldn't, got antibiotics, hand fed her every couple hours 24/7. She got better and I'm holding her in my arms as I type now. All because I loved her and wouldn't give up on her! Hugs and kisses to Plum!
